Inspirations for tomorrow's heirlooms…….

Where OPTIONS are a must……..

Carolyn's Corner

Happy New Year!!! I hope you all are having a great start to a new beginning. 2010 promises to be a wonderful year if you let it. I am thankful everyday for all that I have and all that I can do. My life is full of great friends, family, and opportunities to do what I love. The opportunity to express my creativity is truly a blessing. I love working on all four magazines, my patterns and most of all I love working in the shoppe helping people with their projects. I enjoy it when people let me help with colors, textures, and ideas. We have a lot of fun things planned for this winter.

Cathy is going to do some machine embroidery classes. The first project will be Wildflowers by Smith Street Designs. Check out the classes.

Elizabeth is adding extra Machine Quilting Classes because the demand is so great, so all of you that have not been able to register in time try again.

Leah Chu is teaching her Quilt as you go class, well there are just soooo many good things I can't list them all, just read on.

See you all soon. Carolyn

Lighthouse of Oakland County

Our treasure chest is empty now, but I know a lot of needy children had a better Christmas because of YOUR generosity. Thank you so much for all you donations of pillowcases and doll quilts. We start again for next year right now, so if you are making things for Lighthouse of Oakland County we are accepting anytime. We also have a food box for drop off here at the shop for your convenience and remember the paper grocery bags, they are always in need of the bags. Thanks again for all your help.

Stockings for Lighthouse

DON'T toss those left over Christmas fabrics. How about making a stocking for the Lighthouse's Christmas store for next year? We will have a pattern available for anyone who wants so participate. We will give it to you if you ask. My thought on this is, if you make the stockings all year in your spare time, the shoppe will fill them up and what a great gift it will make for the kids next year. You get to use up your scraps, feel good about your donation, and the kids will have a keepsake from a loving and caring quilter. Everyone wins. After all Christmas is about giving.

This Year's Motto: Ditto!!!!!

(With the economy, I think it is appropriate to repeat this Motto.)

Clean, Organize, and Finish!!!!

New Block-of-the-Month

It's a Boy, It's a Girl!!

The new BOM is 'It's a boy, it's a girl!! Again, once a month we will have a block ready for you to pick up if you are signed up for the BOM, for just $1.00, if you come in each month, any day of the month. For your dollar you will receive a pattern and the background fabric. If you don't come in the block will cost you $2.50.

The whole point of doing the BOM this way is to get you to use up some of those beautiful scraps you have been collecting and to make every quilt unique. Every quilt should be unique. You need to put a piece of yourself into each quilt you make. Again, we will have a quilt show at the end to display all your talent and believe me there is a lot of talent out there. Come in and sign up for the BOM. It's going to be fun.
