Carolyn's Corner

Well we made it through another year! It's been a great year, but I am ready to move on to newer and better projects. Life is good and I want to embrace it all. My first book will be released January 8th. Tablerunners: Part 1 , I have four projects in it. I don't know the release date for the second book yet, and I am finishing up on the third as I write this newsletter. Also, in May I made the cover of Sewing Savvy magazine. I design for them and I have quick and easy quilted projects in every issue. Pick up a copy. It's a great magazine with a lot of great projects. I now carry it in the Shoppe.

The staff teachers have been working really hard to bring you the best classes possible. Check out the classes and sign up for a few. You'll love the class samples, so stop in and check them out.

We have some really fun things planned for the coming year. I am still working on the cookbook so bring in your recipes. We have a retreat planned for the end of March. Read on to get the details. Thimbleberrie Club is really beautiful this year with some great choices. We still have the challenge package for those who are interested in trying something new. The Angels Among Us Quilt Show is scheduled for April 18 & 19th and the Under the Big Top is scheduled for June 6 & 7th. So get busy on your quilts for the show and pick up your registration forms. The new BOM is Spookville USA. It starts in January. Read on for all the fun things we are doing. Thanks for a great 2007!!! Hope to see you soon!

New Block-of-the-Month "Spookville, USA"

The new block-of-the-month is starting January 1st, 2008. Our theme this time is Halloween. Again, the same rules apply and we will have a show in 2009 to show off all your imagination and talent. The block is still a $1.00 per month. You get the pattern and a choice of one of three different background fabrics. All you have to do is stop in once a month, in person, to pick up your block. If you don't drop in once a month it will cost $2.50. We try to make it easy by not making you pick up on a certain day. We give you the whole month. I am having sooooo much fun with this one and I know you will to. So come on in and sign up today!

Angels Among Us Quilt Show

If you are one of those brave people who joined the Angels Among Us Block-of-the-Month, you have until April 12th to finish and turn in your quilt. I hope you all enjoyed the Angels and I hope it inspired you on to a great quilt. I have heard a lot of different ideas and I hope everyone runs with their ideas. I know there will be some wonderful entries in our Quilt Show. Everyone has something special to add to the Angels. I know you can do so much better than I did. Now get busy and finish up those quilts so we can have a great show! Remember we have some great prizes and admission is free. It's really a wonderful experience to see how different all the quilts turn out. Registration forms for the show are available at the shoppe.

Under the Big Top Circus Block-of-the-Month Quilt Show June 6th & 7th

This is going to be REALLY BIG!!!! Plans are in the works for a family circus festival. The whole village is going to participate. We are going to have a great two day family event. There will be clowns, games, food, guilds booths, and lots of great quilts. If you belong to a guild and are interested in adding your group to the fun, we are inviting guilds to set up tents to sell raffle tickets , hand out info about their groups, and have learning demos. There are a lot of people who are looking to join a group but don't know how to find them. If you have done one of our past mysteries we would like to invite you to bring your finished quilt for all to see. There will be exhibits for the Under the Big Top, The Challenge and the Past Mysteries. If you have any other ideas for our festival, I would love to hear them. We are always open to suggestions. So mark you calendar, and get busy!!!! QUILT REGSTRATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE SHOPPE.
