I AM ready for spring!!!
This has been a strange winter. I want to enjoy warm sunshine and cool
breezes. I want to see those cute little flowers popping up all over
the village. I have so many beautiful bright spring fabric lines arriving
and now I want to actually SEE spring for real. Well, being this is
Michigan, I guess I might have to settle for the fabric for awhile yet
and I guess that's really not so bad. I do have some great classes coming
up to use some of this gorgeous fabric.
We have some REAL excitement
coming to the village. We have the Angels Among Us Quilt Show and
Gammill is partnering with the shoppe to make this a really great event.
Gammill is bringing in a few long arm machines to demo April 18 & 19.
If you want to see one operate up close and have questions this is a
great opportunity to do just that. Read on for more info.
Our first retreat booked
up so fast that next year I promise to have TWO so all who wanted to
go can.
In June we have the Under
the Big Top Quilt Show and Challenge Display. The Village is also
working with us to make this a really great event. In going with the
theme, The village is going Circus throughout the village and we have
some local schools that will be partnering also. We will have clowns,
face painting, games, a cake walk, and so much more. I think this is
going to be a really great event for the whole family. Read on for more
details.
On July 13, we are having
a Lifestyles Fashion Luncheon at the Castle. It's a Sunday afternoon,
and includes lunch and some really great ideas in quilting, decorating,
clothing, and styles. The whole village will be participating in the
show. Tickets will be on sale in June so purchase yours early. Seating
is limited.
We have the 5th Annual Shop
Hop on September 5 & 6, so clear your calendar for that. It looks like
this will be the best hop yet.
Boy this is going to be
a great year. We have so many wonderful things planned. Life is good.
Just an update on my publishing
endeavors as so many have asked. I am a regular designer for quilting
in Sewing Savvy. My first book is in and in stock. It's great! Come
on in and check it out. I am working on book #5 at present. My patterns
are going to be in Clotilde's Fall catalog. And I have a 3-part quilt
pattern going into one of the top magazines. I'm not bragging, I'm just
really excited. It's because of all my great customers that I have pursuited
this, so thanks for all the encouragement. Carolyn
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Kathy
Ireland, Judy Wise, Sue Rakowski, and Jackie Beal. These four people
have won our filled $25.00 punch card drawing for this quarter. Happy
Spending! Don't forget to put your name and phone number on the back
of your cards when you turn them in.
New Block-of-the-Month
"Spookville, USA"
Spookville, USA is doing
well. You can still join if you wish. We are on block 4. If you like
Halloween and like to be creative, this is the block of the month for
you. It's only $1.00 a month if you come in during each month to pick
it up. $2.50 if you miss a month.
Angels
Among Us Quilt Show
April 18th & 19th,
2008 10:00am-5:30pm
Admission is FREE!
If you are entering your
Angels in the Quilt Show we need your registration form in as soon as
possible. WE NEED YOUR QUILTS! We have to lay out the Shops and
get the racking made. Remember we have some great prizes and admission
is free. It's really a wonderful experience to see how different all
the quilts turn out.
Gammill will be here with
their long arms to demo for you. We will also have some quilt exhibits
throughout the village. Some of our best local quilters have agreed
to let us hang their quilts for all to see. It's going to be a great
day.
If you're working on your
Angels, get busy!! We need all the quilts we can get. The BOM Quilt
Shows are really great, but we need you and your Angels to keep it going.
Remember, this is all about the creativity. They are not judged on how
perfect they are, but by how creative you are. Everyone has something
special to add to the Angels and that's what makes our Quilt Show great.
